DHAKA: A five-member delegation of Nepal Press Council led by its chairman Berna Bahadur Karki called on state minister for foreign affairs Shahriar Alam, MP, at his secretariat office Wednesday.

During the meeting, they talked about different issues, including friendly relationship and regional connectivity between the two countries, the condition of mass media in both the countries, tourism, hydroelectric power, agricultural production and prospect of exporting agro-based products in both the ways, says a press release.

The state minister and the Nepal Press council delegation put emphasis on people to people contact and more exchange of visits of journalists between these two countries.

The Nepal Press Council delegation is on a five-day visit to Bangladesh with the invitation of Bangladesh Press Council.

The two Press Councils signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for enhancing cooperation.

Bangladesh Press Council Chairman Justice Md. Mamtaz Uddin and Nepal Press Council Chairman Berna Bahadur Karki signed the MoU on behalf of respective organizations, the release added.
