Mr. Md. Shahriar Alam is a sports loving person and an active sports organizer. His interest in sports goes back to his student life when he participated and organized various sports event. He established the first ever private cricket school at Rajshahi by the name of North Bengal Cricket Academy. This academy team has successfully reached into the First Division Cricket League in Dhaka. He is putting his serious effort in converting this academy into a full fledged training and sports educational institute.

In recognition to his achievement as sports organizer Mr. Alam was elected Vice President of Bangladesh Hockey Federation. He is now the President of Bangladesh Tennis Federation, Director of Abahoni Limited, Chairman of North Bengal Cricket Academy, Member of Kurmitola Golf Club.

Md. Shahriar Alam represented Bangladesh Tennis Federation to visit US Open Tennis Tournament in 2010. He participated in all official meeting and dinner hosted by the US Tennis Federation
